People choose to volunteer within their communities for a variety of reasons. Some volunteer because they:
- like to be able to give something back to the community
- want to make a difference in someone’s life
- want to develop new skills
- want to spend time away from work or a busy life
I’ve volunteered in some capacity since I was a teenager because I wanted to give back. As an adult I’ve volunteered to:
- give back
- meet new people
- stay engaged in the community
- take my mind off my work responsibilities
- to develop skills
